Hah!
Honestly, as concerned as I am about what I watch when I watch wrestling, I also tend to pick my battles. So I’m torn over the AJ angle.
I’m hoping it will end with AJ swerving the audience and showing us that not only is she in complete control of her actions, but she wants to be devious and deceptive, and appearing mopey and mentally unstable was all part of some Master Plan. I’d even be okay with AJ and Daniel Bryan becoming Christian/Trish 2.0: horrible people who continually harass and sabotage their enemies and whose only loyalty is to each other.
Those outcomes are rife with issues as well. Mostly that AJ’s heel turn would likely be credited to her gender (I can already hear the “Jezebel” comments from Lawler) instead of her personal character.
But I vastly prefer AJ as the second coming of Evil Trish. Because it’s better than AJ, the innocent led astray by jerks, or AJ, the CRAZY ex with a capital CRAZY, or AJ, the Bella clone who assumes her life is over because her man dumped her and is now behaving recklessly so she’ll “feel something again”, or AJ, the woman who LIKES it when men verbally abuse or physically intimidate her (eesh).
TL;DR - AJ needs agency in order for this angle to be not-god-awful.
